Angarin: The Escape Sample

Hello readers. As many of you know by now, Angarin: The Escape, my first novel, is well on it's way to being funded through Kickstarter. I have written up several plot descriptions recently but still, it's tough to stake your money in something you haven't seen before. My prologue was up before but it was rough at best, I'm the first to admit that. So today, I want to share the first almost final preview of Angarin: The Escape. Hey everyone. I apologize for not having posted anything here in quite some time. I have actually been working on a few short stories that haven't been posted but most of my time has gone to working on my first novel, Angarin: The Escape, which I posted a very early look at several months ago on this blog.

Angarin is a dystopian science fiction trilogy about a group of kids who decide to reject the totalitarian oppression brought on by their oppressive government Arx. Angarin is the name of a walled-off city where nobody alive inside has ever seen the world outside the walls. The city is broken up into five sectors with a giant tower in the middle, watching over all five sectors. Movement between the sectors is strictly controlled and nobody is allowed to cross unless it is for the benefit of Angarin. In this city, you don't get to choose your job, your home or even your spouse. All of your choices are made for you by the Arx.

Zack is a high schooler who dreams of joining the Red Stars, the military force of Angarin. When a group of kids show up talking about another way of life where everyone gets to decide for themselves how they live, Zack is thrust headfirst into a rebellion he isn't sure he believes in. As they struggle to recruit fellow freedom fighters in a world that watches their every move, Zack has to decide which side of the fence he stands. There can be no indecision when they try to be the first people ever to escape from Angarin.

Things are going very well with Angarin but now, I need your help. If you have not heard of Kickstarter before, it is a website that allows people to post projects that they are working on in order to fundraise. This is not a donation service though, backers of projects receive rewards for helping out including but not limited to the product they are backing, memorabilia, bonus material, access to production blogs, etc. Angarin: The Escape's Kickstarter is no different.
