RSS Feeds + Easton *EDIT*

Hello and welcome to my blog. This is just going to be for friends and family and it's simply a way to share my short stories or chapters of novels with you all without emailing everyone all the time. I'll let you know when I write a new post but the easiest way to track this is by using an RSS feed. Let me walk you through how to do this:

1. Download Mozilla Firefox and run all the installation stuff. Very simple, just follow the instructions they provide. This is an internet browser (like Internet Explorer or Safari) but it's much faster and more secure than anything else available, not to mention it is the most convenient for RSS Feeds. If you aren't already using this browser, I highly recommend you switch, no matter what type of computer you have.

2. The first thing to check with Firefox turned on is that your favorites bar is showing. To check this, simply click View -> Toolbars -> and make sure that "Bookmarks Toolbar" is checked. If not, check it now. This will allow you to easily check your RSS Feeds.

3. The pictures I will use will show Firefox but it should look very similar even if you are using another browser. First click on the link I have circled below. It should appear at the very bottom of this blog page. The text will say "Subscribe to: Posts (Atom)" Click on the Posts (Atom) link

4. Next, you should see a page that looks like the picture below. Other browsers may look a tiny bit different but all will have a button that says Subscribe Now. Just click on that.

5. Now, simply click Subscribe on that pop-up window and the feed should show up in the bar directly under where you type in the web addresses.

6. I know that was a bit complex but trust me, now that it's over, this will help out a lot. All you need to do is click on that little button that shows up (should show up as a little, yellow folder with Short Stories written next to it) and a drop down menu will show all the posts I've made so you can easily see if a new one has been written. No spam, doesn't change your current webpage, takes a second to do and you don't have to check emails or Facebook ever!

Next, I have my first story uploaded but let me quickly teach you how to use this as well. I will be using a site called 4shared.com. You will not have to remember this or sign up or anything else. All you will have to do is click on the link I give you. I'll walk you through what this will look like:

1. It will take you to a white page with A LOT going on. This is trying to confuse you but read carefully and there shouldn't be a problem. Just click on the big blue button that says Download Now with a downwards facing arrow. DON'T CLICK THE GREEN BUTTONS! They are advertisements, not my stories.

2. When you click on the blue button a new screen will pop up that makes you wait for 20 seconds. This is to try to get you to pay for no wait downloads. Just wait the 20 seconds and an underlined link will appear saying Download File Now.

Just wait the 20 seconds...
20 seconds later... the link appears!

3. Click on that and you can download my story. I will upload in PDF files which can be read using Adobe Reader or PDF995 among other programs.

I'm sorry for the long introduction, after this, everything should be very easy and you can read my stories! If you do need help with anything at all, please let me know right away. Chances are, if you are having problems with something, someone else is too. Also, I love hearing comments and critiques about my writing. All of it, the good and the bad, helps me become a better writer. So, if you don't want to leave a public comment on this blog, please email me those as well. My email address for either reason is Katosepe@comcast.net. Now, without further ado, here is my newest short story, Easton.
